9-11 the New Friday the 13th?
According to Hollywood, it appears that 9-11 may be the new Friday the 13th or Halloween. The film industry usually loves it when a Friday falls on either of these days, because they feel it's a perfect day to release a bunch of shitty horror movies. For some reason they think we want to do something scary on these days, and maybe they're right. Well this year 9-11 falls on a Friday and it appears the heartless bastards in tinsle-town aren't above using it to their advantage.
On September 11th two horror movies will be released. Kate Beckinsale will be starring in Whiteout, and a bunch of whores will be starring in Sorority Row. (Actually the cast for Sorority Row is pretty rediculous. You got Rumor Willis, daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, you got Jamie Chung who was on Real World San Diego, you got Audrina Partridge who was whorring it up on the unreality show The Hills, and of course, you also got Princess Leila, Miss Carrie Fisher.)
And a special thanks goes out to the jackass who repeated the trailer of Sorority Row before I saw The Hurt Locker. I wanted to gouge out my eyeballs with a pointy thing. I had to sit through this shit twice... back to back.
(By the way, Hurt Locker was amazing and probably one of the best movies I have seen this year. Go see it before it leaves theaters.)
Props to Halloween 2 for coming out this Friday and not waiting for 9-11. But, I take those props away because the original Halloween 2 came out in 1981, so this is a redo of a sequel. I'm alright with redoing an orginal like they did with Holloween in 2007, but now with this sequel it is just getting confusing. You know how I know this is getting confusing? I am confused by what I just wrote, and I am sure that you are confused by what you just read.
Moving on!
Another movie which is coming out on an interesting date is a movie that is simply titled, 9. It is coming out on 09-09-09. Which is great marketing and fun because that is also my birthday. It is based on a silent short, made a few years ago that was exactly, you guessed it, 9 minutes long (not counting the credits). Hey, maybe on my birthday I should go and see it 9 times, or not.
I wish I was turning 27 instead of 26, because I would have annoyed my friends with the oppurtunity of stating that, 09+09+09=27. I would probably have made shirts with that equation and made my buddies wear them. I still may make shirts that say, 09+09+09=26, and see how many assholes try and correct me on my math.
