NFL Players Now on Twitter of the Week

Yet another reason why this NFL Season is going to be great. This is the first season since the popularity of Twitter has blown up and now many NFL stars have are using it to talk directly to fans. I started following Darnell Dockett, the pro-bowl defensive tackle of the Arizona Cardinals, and here is a little taste of the things we can expect from NFL player tweets.

... and by the way, Darnell, who is #90, now wants to be called, Nine-0. Since, he tied Reggie White for most sacks in a Super Bowl, I think he has earned the right to be called whatever he wants.

It's the Titans fake punt from the Hall of Fame Game. (can you tell that I may be a little excited about the upcoming football season?)

This was by far, the best fake punt that I have ever seen. It was executed to perfection and the punter actually has some wheels. But, why would you pull it out in preseason? I'm sure that the Titans have used it in practice and figured out that it would work, so why not wait until the regular season when it matters. Now, when they do it again the other teams are going to know what's up and the punter is going to get annihilated.

That being said, Jeff Fisher isn't the longest tenured NFL coach for nothing, and he probably has two or three different ways to execute this fake punt. Next time we see it, it may include a hand-off, or a pass, or maybe something cool that I don't even know about.
