I Won't Do It

I will not write about the BCS

I will not write about the BCS because it is just too easy.

I will not write about the BCS because everyone is going to do it.

I will not write about the BCS because it is a waste of time.

I will not write about the BCS because the BCS does not deserve it.  I am better then them.

I will not write about the BCS and how Texas has to watch two teams they beat play each other in the Big 12 Title Game.

I will not write about BCS and how Texas’ only loss was the result of two lucky back-to-back once in a lifetime game changing plays, while other team’s losses (Oklahoma) were the result of just being outplayed.  The first lucky play that lead to the defeat of Texas was a tipped pass that should have been a game ending interception but it went right through the hands of Texas Safety, Blake Gideon.

And here is the second lucky play.  Crabtree scores with only one second remaining

I will not write about the BCS and how Boise St and Ball St both went 12-0 and will probably be left out of a BCS Game.  Utah went undefeated and it appears that the BCS only has one glass slipper to give out per year.  I know that Ball St is realistically not a BCS caliber team but they beat everyone they played.  If a team goes undefeated do they not deserve the right to test their skills against a tougher opponent?

I will not write about the BCS and how if Oklahoma loses to Missouri in the Big 12 Title Game that Texas has a chance to go to the title game.  That means a team that did not even get to play for their own conference championship gets to play for the national championship.  That would be like if a team in the NFL did not make the playoffs but then get to play in the Super Bowl. (This happened in 2001 with Nebraska.  Nebraska lost to Miami 37-14)

I will not write about the BCS and how we could be heading to a possible split championship once again.  If Florida were to end up slightly beating Oklahoma in an ugly poorly played championship game and Texas throttles whomever they match up against we could end up with two national champions.  The BCS was created to make sure this would not happen, but we are inching closer once again.  This happened in 2003 under BCS rule.  LSU won the championship game and got the BCS Trophy but USC ended up number one in the AP Poll.  (Interesting note: Gateway Computers CEO: Ted Waitt offered the NCAA $31 million to play an additional championship game between USC and LSU.  The NCAA firmly inserted fingers into their ears and yelled our “La La La La La La La! We can’t hear your, we can’t hear you!”)

AND I WILL DEFINITELY, ABSOLUTELY, IN NO WAY, WRITE ABOUT HOW ALL OF THIS COULD BE RESOLVED BY SIMPLY IMPLEMENTING A GOD DAMN PLAYOFF.  SERIOUSLY… WHAT THE FUCK… HUH?  WE REALLY HAVE TO BRING THE PRESIDENT OF THE FUCKING UNITED STATES INTO IT?  FUCK YOU BCS! I AM SERIOUSLY DEBATING BOYCOTTING COLLEGE FOOTBALL UNTIL YOU ARE GONE.

I wrote about the BCS didn’t I?  SHIT!
