Reason Why I am an Idiot #254
I am an idiot. It took me about 3 months to figure out that Sara Palin’s infamous Bridge to Nowhere is an actual bridge. I was under the impression that it was a figurative bridge. I thought it was along the same lines as when Bill Clinton told us he was going to build a Bridge to the Future. Bridge to Nowhere was communicating to me that our government was heading in the wrong direction and building a “bridge” to take us “nowhere” instead of the “future.” If the governor from Alaska didn’t become the running mate for McCain I would have probably never found out truth.
How many of you actually know the real name of Nowhere, Alaska?
It truly is a Mystery... Alaska! Ha, couldn't resist.
Answer: Gravina Island, Alaska; Total Population: 50
Proposed Cost of Bridge: $223 million, or $4.46 million per resident.
How pissed would you be if you were one of the 50 residents of Gravina Island. You didn’t get your bridge, and everyone refers to your hometown as “Nowhere.” And, if that wasn’t enough the lady that was one of the bridge's biggest proponents turned against your bridge at the last second and acted like she was against it the whole time. Helping her achieve her current Vice President hopeful status. What a bridge cock tease.
